The Berkshire Edge LLC is a locally owned, regional publication. Our goal is to provide – regularly and in depth – content that truly reflects the life, interests and aspirations of this unusually rich and vibrant community.

Guided by respected journalistic standards, the principle of fairness, the quest for truth, a commitment to social, economic and environmental justice, and an abiding admiration for the independent spirit of the Berkshires, The Berkshire Edge offers in-depth local news reports and features, perspectives on the arts, wide-ranging commentary, and a comprehensive calendar of events – all written, illustrated, and, in some cases performed, with wit, intelligence, insight and humor.

1. It’s town meeting time… our first report is about Great Barrington, held in the parking lot of the high school:
And speaking of parking, one of the controversial issues was a proposed parking lot at the (dormant) rail station; the second hot topic were restrictions and buffer zones pot farming. Both measures failed.

2. Meanwhile in Sheffield, voters at the town meeting decided to limit the number of outdoor marijuana cultivation sites:https://theberkshireedge.com/sheffield-votes-to-limit-outdoor-marijuana-farms/

3.  Update from Tanglewood: The good news is that the number of available tickets to Tanglewood concerts doubles on June 21; the bad news is that James Taylor won’t be performing his annual Berkshire concert this year… Taylor fans will have to wait until 2022:

4.  Meanwhile, in West Stockbridge a proposed concert venue and a restaurant are in a stand-off over access during performances… it’s gotten quite vitriolic … but a resolution may have been reached:

5. In a Business Monday feature we have a profile of Destiny Saunders, a Pittsfield entrepreneur who is engaged in several enterprises — and she’s an evangelist with her own ministry, as well:

6. And finally, from our magazine, we have a feature about touring historic artists’ studios in the Berkshire region:
